The April mixtape consists of a collection of tracks that will be featured on upcoming releases that I’m eagerly anticipating such as the National and the Black Keys; a few tracks that weren’t eligible for the Motown mix because of the time period when the were recorded (Syreeta & the Temptations); some exciting miscellaneous tracks that have been released so far this month (Nas + Gil Scott Heron & Chiddy Bang); some exciting new discoveries (Jetskiis & Hooray For Earth); and a number of old favorites including the XX, Aesop Rock, Southeast Engine, Millionyoung, and Matt & Kim. I think it plays to the duality of April well too: a few gray, rainy days here and there mixed with some beautiful sunny days. Let me know what you think.
