It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for a new release from Evy Jane (a.k.a. Vancouver duo Evelyn Mason and Jeremiah Klein). In fact, it’s been over two years since they became one of TK’s favorite up-and-coming projects based on the strength of their debut tracks. Unfortunately, their output since that time has been relatively meager.
Thankfully, they prove to be well worth the wait. Their new EP Closer dropper earlier this week and it’s stunning. Seriously, take a listen to a pair of tracks from the EP below. “Worry Heart” in particular is a smoky, sensual groove with a dark and wispy ambiance that engulfs Mason’s sultry croon like a blanket of wet fog. It’s both sexy and mysterious. Meanwhile, “Nothing So Great” is simmering and pastoral with a subtle and evocative build. It’s simply gorgeous.
You can order the Closer EP from Ninja Tunes.
