I really liked Gainesville, Florida’s Hundred Waters before SXSW, but after seeing them at the Portals showcase I’m completely in love. Their compositions are texturally sophisticated; vocalist Nicole Miglis’ voice is incredibly evocative; they’re sonic signature is lovingly exotic; and they are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet.
Need another reason to get excited about their forthcoming LP? One of the songs from the album that they played live was as beautiful to my ears as Beach House’s “Lazuli” – and that is high praise.
