Prolific songwriter and occasional-Californian Cass McCombs is back with twenty-two shiny new songs for you to obsess over. If you’ve enjoyed his recent releases Catacombs, Humor Risk, or Wit’s End, then you know this new collection of tunes will be pretty damn good as well. Nonetheless, if you need a taste before you commit to the 2xLP you can hear the album’s first release “There Can Be Only One” now. It features mean bongo-led percussion, sparkling guitar riffs, and some smooth McCombs’ vocals. I’ve pre-ordered my copy.
A limited-edition double LP is available from Domino and includes an alternate album cover, bonus 7″, and a booklet with illustrations and lyrics. Only 500 copies were made.
