I’m feeling this over-before-you-know-it new jam by Columbia, South Carolina’s Coma Cinema. It’s jangly and clean, set upon a buoyant acoustic guitar riff and bright keys, but punctuated by swirling electric stabs on the backend. Songwriter Mat Cothran’s vocals are relatively grim but warmly melodic: “Satan made a mansion for love to live when it dies.” Yeah, it may be melancholy, but with a groove like that it’s definitely no bummer.
