My friend from across the pond sent me this today and I pretty much immediately spread my wings and took flight.
After all, “10,000 Emerald Pools” is a dreamy, cloud busting, buoyant melody that has the power to make a wilting flower stand straight up, open its petals and hug the sun. After just one listen, I started pounding the keyboard to find out what planet BØRNS is from and I was shocked to discover that this cosmic song did in fact originate, here………on earth.
However, I also learned that the author of this gorgeous tune, and the front-man of this new band on the scene, Garrett Borns, does currently reside in a secluded tree-house dwelling somewhere in the Los Angeles canyons; the planets aligned and it all made sense. Where else would you be inspired to write such a lush track?
If this song doesn’t lift your mood, then the only cure left for you is to do a Google image search for “baby hedgehog.” BØRNS debut EP titled Candy is set to drop next Tuesday and I’m stoked to see what other crafty songs he’s got hidden up his tree.
