Is/Is is the project of Portland-by-way-of-Minneapolis duo Sarah Rose & Sarah Nienaber. Their latest collection Shadow Days is a collection of dusty, scorched earth psychedelic ballads that are as lovely as they are haunted.
For example, standout “Before The Stars” is a sparse, wind-swept vibe constructed from languid acoustic guitar riffs, ghostly atmospherics, and Rose’s softly sung lyrics. It’s a little eerie and a little chilly, but ultimately a beautiful experience overall.
