They brought us meatballs, that-place-where-you-can-buy-a-twenty-dollar-sweater and that-place-where-you bought-a-dresser-couldn’t-assemble-it-then-drank-a-bottle-of-wine-and-maybe-cried. And they keep their music fresh, like their colorful candy fish. This remix by Dan Lissvik (one-half of Swedish duo Studio) is a perfect example.
Brian Reitzell, former drummer of Air and Red Kross, is releasing his debut solo album including the single “Last Summer” – an eight-and-a-half minute exploration of mellow organ experimentations and ideal summer vacation driving tuneage. Reitzall has worked as the “music conceptualist” on various Sofia Coppola films, including “Lost in Translation,” “Marie Antoinette,” “The Bling Ring,” and “Virgin Suicides.” If Sofia trusts him, so can we. Here, Lissvik adds enough color to Reitzall’s tune to brighten up a lifetime supply of those colorful candy fish.
