Our talented East Bay-dwelling friends TRAILS AND WAYS are back with a brand-spanking new cover of Frank Ocean’s “Lost.” Their version is a duet with verses crooned in Portuguese. Here’s what they had to say about it:
“We made our cover with Tom Jobim-style rhythm guitar played on an electric, vocal harmonies from a dark dream, rushes of strings, lead guitar ringing like vibraphones, with everything pushed forward by a deep kick drum groove.
Along with changing the verses to Portuguese, we also made some shifts in the lyrics. Our version is a back-and-forth between young lovers on forking paths, one winding through northern Brazil, the other up the office towers of San Francisco, each calling the other lost.” Take a listen.
