Although it’s been nearly two years since Jai Paul released his first single “BTSTU,” it’s clear he is in no rush to drop an album’s worth of material for us to savor. Nonetheless, when he does release a new track it is smooth. The demo for his latest track, “Jasmine,” is a distorted & wobbling R&B jam anchored by a bright and funky bass-line, echo-heavy handclaps, and his tuned-up vocals. It sounds as if it could burst apart at the seams at nearly any moment and if that compelling groove wasn’t so effortlessly holding it all together.
