If you’re a record collector like me, chances are you recently visited your local vinyl merchant for Record Store Day and walked away with a few limited-edition gems. I went to Amoeba Records in San Francisco, and for the first year ever I nearly walked away with most of the loot I’d eyed up. The only record that I’d wanted and didn’t find was the Gorillaz feat. James Murphy and Andre 3000 single. However, I’d did score the Arcade Fire 12″ single, the Beach House 7″ single, all of the various Flaming Lips memorabilia, the Dale Earnhardt EP, the Animal Collective 12″, Miles Davis’ Forever Miles, the Mississippi John Hurt reissue, the Oberhofer 7″, the St. Vincent 7″, the Otis Redding/Aretha Franklin split, the Trouble in Mind 4-way split 7″, and the Domino Records’ Smugglers Way zine.
I thought it might be fun to share a few of my favorite tracks with you here as I make it through listening to my haul. Here are three tracks from Arcade Fire, Shabazz Palaces, and Beach House. I’ll update as I have an opportunity. Enjoy!
Arcade Fire – Sprawl II Remix 12″
Shabazz Palaces – Live at KEXP 12″
Beach House – Equal Mind
