Longtime readers may recall a talented young singer/songwriter we covered waaaay back in the early ages of the Internet (i.e. April of 2009) named Cousin Chris (although his immediate family know him as Chris Schreiber). Well, Chris has now teamed up with a full band and has been hard at work in the studio recording a slew of new tunes. He has offered us a sneak preview from the recording sessions by way of a rough cut for a new tune called “Gonna Be Alright.” The track features a loose, bright riff that leads an upbeat melody alongside Schrieber’s tuneful vocals which fall somewhere between an M. Ward croon and an Issac Brock warble. You can catch The Cousin Chris Band live as they perform some of their newest material live at 111 Minna in San Francisco this Friday, September 17, 2010 for a happy hour show at 6:00 p.m.
