When I’m traveling for business, I like to search out all of the best independent record stores within a 30-40 mile radius of the place I’ve been put up (when looking for vinyl records – antique shops will also occasionally produce gold). So on a recent trip to Connecticut I did just that, and discovered a vinyl 12″ (probably bootleg) with a silk-screened cover of Thom Yorke’s “The Eraser” by Slow to Speak (b/w “Climbing Up The Walls”). It stutters, it ticks, it has some sorta weird rhythm, and it builds to a cacophonous noise before melting into a verse: Thom Yorke would maybe even approve. Check it out.
