Atoms for Peace (a.k.a. Thom Yorke, Nigel Godrich, Flea, et al) stopped by Oakland’s Fox Theater for two stunning performances which have been regarded as the tour highlights by the aficionados over on ateaseweb. The band played two encores on both nights. On the first, they introduced a full band version of the unreleased Radiohead tune “Follow Me Around.” On the second, they ended the night with a upbeat cover of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart.” Musical Pairings was on hand for the second night’s set (the pic on Thom above was taken with Kasey’s iPhone) which also included the Radiohead songs Airbag and Paperbag Writer in addition to a host of new, unreleased Radiohead material.
