Bobby Birdman – “You’d Be Surprised” from judesays on Vimeo.
I received this Bobby Birdman video in my inbox the other day for the track “You’d Be Surprised” off of his latest album. I loved it, and I think you will too. Here is the accompanying description of the video:
“While in Portland, Oregon to rehearse for the upcoming New Mystery Moods Tour with YACHT and the Straight Gaze, Bobby Birdman was asked to perform on Portland Community Media’s underground televised variety sensation, The You’d Be Surprised Hour, hosted by “local favorite” Steve Schroeder of States Rights Records.
For the occasion, Bobby Birdman assembled a band of his favorite Portland players to jam under the hot lights of the cable-access studio: Adam Forkner of White Rainbow (seen in the video exhibiting his unparalleled dance style), E*Rock of Audio Dregs/Fryk Beat, and his fellow YACHT and the Straight Gaze bandmates Jona Bechtolt, Claire L. Evans, Jeff Brodsky (Jeffrey Jerusalem) and D. Reuben Snyder (Rob Walmart). By sheer coincidence, they chose to play the song ‘You’d Be Surprised,’ from Bobby Birdman’s new album, New Moods. The result was such visual dynamite that the video is now being widely released for those people who no longer own televisions.”
