For those who are just joining us, Florida-based SALES (a.k.a. duo Lauren Morgan & Jordan Shih) have been making us swoon with their stripped-down and ridiculously catchy jams for a few weeks now. Their latest single “Chinese New Year” sports a guitar riff and melody as buoyant as anything from Francoise Hardy’s ye-ye girl years alongside a tight, crisp rhythm to accompany Morgan as she sings, “It’s time for us to make a change, it’s time for our Chinese New Year.” So, yeah, it’s pretty much irresistible.
